About Me: I have just entered the SESAME Ph.D. program (science and mathematics education) as of Fall 2009. I graduated in Spring 2007 with a BS in Electrical Engineering and Spring 2009 with a MS in Mathematics from Colorado State University. You can find some of my personal interests on my homepage at CSU. It's also worth noting that I'm one of the creators of the trading card game Conquest of Arthenia.

Research Interests: Although perhaps still a bit nebulous, my interests center around motivation, the connection between mathematics and other fields, and student understandings of mathematical concepts. Particularly, I'm interested in understanding how mathematics education can be structured as to empower students to see the usefulness of mathematics in their every-day lives, and to be able to employ mathematics in important and useful ways. Exactly which research questions I wish to pursue pertaining to these interests is still a question I am in the process of answering.
