I am a first year MACSME student, interested in teaching 9th or 10th grade mathematics. I’m originally from the Los Angeles area, from a little town called Sierra Madre (no connection to the Humphrey Bogart movie). I did my undergrad up in Portland, OR at Lewis and Clark College, where I got my BA in Mathematics and a minor in Religious Studies. It was certainly a unique combination! Through this minor I spent a semester abroad in Morocco, and even learned a decent amount ofMoroccan Arabic. When I’m not in a classroom I enjoy climbing and cooking! I’m looking forward to focusing the research portion of my time at Berkeley on alternative curriculums.
